AquaTarp
A synthetic polymer formulated for fine dust and erosion control
AquaTarp is spray-on, solvent-free water and surfactant-based emulsion of latex polymer. The liquid nature of the product makes it easy to apply on roads and exposed materials experiencing dust and/or erosion issues.
This dust control polymer is particularly ideal for stockpile capping. It can also be used as a durable, low maintenance road stabilization product for lay-down areas such as loading bays, workshops or areas with heavy forklift use.
How does AquaTarp work?
The presence of acrylic matter in the product binds exposed materials and dust together to prevent particles from becoming airborne.
Once it has been sprayed on, AquaTarp produces a crusting effect that creates a surface seal which exhibits good wind and water erosion resistance. The product also prevents dust particles from being emitted into the atmosphere as well as sediment run-off.
Longer-term ground stabilisation and waterproofing can also be achieved by establishing the product into the surface wearing course layer of a road via a stabilisation process.
How is AquaTarp applied?
AquaTarp is a versatile product that is easy to handle and apply without any specialised equipment required. In order to suppress dust on roads and other surfaces, AquaTarp can be applied via a series of light dilutions using a water cart.
Once applied, the need for reapplication is minimal. Mines which typically rely on continuously spraying untreated water on haul road networks in order to control dust will dramatically reduce water usage and water cart hours by switching to AquaTarp
AquaTarp is conveniently delivered in a concentrated liquid form ready to use. It is typically diluted in a water cart at a concentration of 2.5% up to 20% depending on the specific requirement.
