Dust-A-Side is a South African born company with an international footprint. Our Dust Management services include dust and road management for opencast and underground mines, rural and community roads, process plants, and construction and agricultural sectors. Our dust control products consist of a range of environmentally friendly solutions of binders and non-binders addressing dust challenges from pit to port. Utilizing our award–winning innovative products to bind and/or seal haul roads allows optimal production and performance to operate safely in all weather conditions. This is achieved with improved running costs such as fuel efficiency and reduction in repairs and maintenance frequency. Water savings and related running costs with increased production cycle times remain among the biggest benefits of employing a Dust-A-Side solution.

Our Local Economic Development (LED) plan goes beyond compliance—it aims to make a sustainable, positive impact on the communities affected by mining operations. In partnership with our STABLE programme (Specialized Technical Assistance for Black Local Entrepreneurs), we implement a strategy that uplifts local communities through skills transfer and sustainable growth initiatives, driving employment and economic development in and around the communities we operate in. By integrating SHEQ principles into our projects, we ensure that our local entities provide world-class services that adhere to strict safety and quality standards while contributing to the long-term economic development of the communities we operate in. We champion innovative dust suppression methods that save millions of litres of water annually. In traditional mining, water serves as a temporary dust suppressant.
A case study exemplifies this impact whereby, we helped a mining client achieve 90% water savings by using only 662 million litres compared to 23 billion litres in a conventional system.
By prioritising water conservation, we help clients save costs while addressing the challenges of water scarcity head-on. Certified under an Environmental Management System, we continually pursue sustainable waste reduction practices. This commitment not only reduces costs for clients but also aligns with us goal of a cleaner, greener industry.
Women empowerment is central to our ethos. We proudly highlights DAS Coal and DAS Kalahari, two women-owned franchises, as leaders in the Mpumalanga and Northern Cape mining communities. By fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, we nurture innovation, strengthen company performance, and contribute to a broader societal shift towards equality in the traditionally male-dominated mining sector.
We have taken road stabilization to heart, particularly in rural and mining communities. In Ghana’s Teberibie village, ensuring usability throughout the rainy and dry seasons. In the Northern Cape, the road between Kathu and surrounding mines has been treated to allow safe passage between work, school, and home. Back home, the DAS factory team extended its social responsibility ethos by initiating pothole repairs in Bethal, Mpumalanga.
